Quantitative reverse transcription PCR analysis of GLUT1, GLUT8, GLUT12, SGLT1, and SGLT2 mRNA expression in the bovine mammary gland at −40, −20, −7, and 7 d relative to parturition. The mammary tissues were taken by biopsy from 12 cows at each stage. The mRNA levels of each transporter were normalized to β-actin levels. Data are taken from Zhao et al. (2004, 2005a,b) and unpublished data (F.-Q. Zhao, E. H. Wall, and T. B. McFadden).
