Dr. Jayendra (Jay) Amamcharla
Jayendra (Jay) Amamcharla is an associate professor in the animal sciences and industry department at Kansas State University. He has an undergraduate degree in dairy technology and graduate degrees in dairy engineering. Amamcharla completed his PhD degree in agricultural and biosystems engineering from North Dakota State University. Subsequently, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Dairy Science Department at South Dakota State University, Brookings, SD. He joined Kansas State University as an assistant professor in July 2012 and was promoted to associate professor in June 2017 with 70% research and 30% teaching responsibilities. He has extensive research experience in dairy products processing, engineering properties of dairy foods, non-destructive sensing, analytical method development, and validation. Amamcharla teaches physical methods in food analysis and research and development of food products to food science undergraduate and graduate students.
