Calculation of the Final Intensity Indicator
Presenting the results per kilogram of product could, however, be misleading for future comparison with nondairy products, such as soymilk. To avoid this limitation, we also calculated the amount of GHG produced per kilogram of protein content. The percentage of protein used in calculations is presented in Figure 3. When the product listed was a generic product, the value corresponded to a weighted percentage of the protein content of each of the identified subproducts. For the frozen dairy product category, data on the percentage of protein were not available for all subproducts and this generic category was therefore not considered.
