Dr. Wolfgang Heuwieser

Wolfgang Heuwieser is professor and the head of the Clinic of Animal Reproduction at the University of Berlin. He received his PhD from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover University, spent 4 years in the Department of Animal Science at Cornell University, and 1 year in the Animal Welfare Group at UBC. He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University. His main areas of research include metritis, endometritis, synchronization protocols, mastitis, and prudent antibiotic drug use in dairy cattle. More recently, he became interested in human resource issues and leveraging training and SOPs as a strategy to enhance consistency and quality of work processes.
